''Now my evening praise I give,

Thou didst die that I might live,

all my blessings come from Thee,

oh how good thou art to me!

Thou, my best and kindest friend,

Thou wilt love me to the end,

let me love Thee more and more,

always better then before.''

-Little pillows by Frances Ridley Havergal

In honor of this new season of falling leaves, cool whether and big orange pumpkins, I thought I might change things up a bit and add a poem, by a poet whom I admire and love.

Autumn
by Emily Dickinson
The morns are meeker than they were,
The nuts are getting brown;
The berry's cheek is plumper,
The rose is out of town.

The maple wears a gayer scarf,
The field a scarlet gown.
Lest I should be old-fashioned,
I'll put a trinket on.

Scripture

Psalms 7:11  God is a righteous judge, and a God who feels indignation every day.

Romans 3:10-12  as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one;  11  no one understands; no one seeks for God.  12  All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”

John 3:3  Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

John 3:16-18  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.  17  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.  18  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Ephesians 2:8-10  For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,  9  not a result of works, so that no one may boast.  10  For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Mark 1:15  and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

Romans 10:9-10  because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  10  For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
