I haven't played serious OTB tournament chess in almost 30 years, so my skills have declined a bit with age. I used to be what could be termed "not a weak player," a fairly strong amateur player. My peak rating was over 2300 USCF back in the 1980's, but my "practical" playing strength is undoubtedly lower these days because of the ever-present fatigue errors that a 60-something human is prone to, as well as the fact that my F.G.M.C.P.S (flawed grey-matter calculations per second) rate has decreased. This is offset somewhat with a positional sense which may even be better than in the good old days.  I still play "unofficially" OTB against old friends and experiment with on-line play.
