Hi, I'm Alessandro but everyone calls me by my surname Pelone, some "experts" even call me plone.

I fell in love with chess almost a year ago and I started playing online with some friends on chess.com, I wasn't really good and I played just for fun, to have something to do between the lessons at school.
My first school tournament was the moment I choose to put the heart in chess, i got beaten in the first round but as I said, I barely knew any opening, and the last thing I knew was en-passant.

And so I started studying the basics of chess, by myself, because I didn't have the strength to go to a chess club.
I started playing almost everyday, sometimes even skipping homeworks just to play chess, mostly following the streams of Witty_Alien, (@Witty_Alien)he was and he still is a crucial part of my love for chess.
In a month I did my first FIDE tournament, witch was a disaster, I lost all the games, i wasnt prepared, I barely had 500 elo on chess.com.

The summer passed by and I prepared better and better, until my second FIDE tournament, a Rapid tournament, this time I was well prepared, and I finished with a score of 4/8, getting my FIDE rating, finally, of 1592.

In the meantime I also got myself a subscription to a chess club called "Ostia Scacchi", and every tuesday I go there for 2-3 hours.

My first classical game

This is a whole story to tell...
From Friday to Sunday in Rome was taking part the annual CIS competition, a national team tournament, where teams of all the Country were playing.
My chess club's team was there playing too, and it was going all good till Saturday, when a team member got sick and couldn't play the final round.
The team needed somebody to replace him, and guess who the president called? Yes, me.
So on Saturday the President Francesco send me this message where he asks me if I was able to play for the last round.
The problem is that On Sunday morning I had a karting practice test, (we will look at it in a moment) from 10 to 14, and I had to be at the playing hall at 15.
Me and my dad found a solution, and I agreed to play for the team.
So I got literally dressed up outside the car after the karting practice and we rushed to the playing site, on the other side of Rome.


I managed to get there on time, just as soon as the game started.
I was playing on the fourth board, against a 1800 rated opponent, we had a relatively quick game, witch ended in a draw for a very big mistake from me, a rookie mistake.

Karting

I started karting when I was 15, and since then has been a part of my life.
Its a very hard sport and at a professional level is the closest thing from driving an F2 car, with high speeds of 120+ km/h a few centimetres off the ground and G-forces up to 3 G's
